Photo exhibition telling about the history of Uzbek cinema
PROlogue 2018 International Film Festival kicks off in Tashkent.
PROlogue 2018 International Film Festival kicks off in Tashkent. This event is held jointly by Uzbekistan Youth Union, Uzbekkino National Agency, Tashkent city khokimiyat, Cinematography Development Center, Young Cinematographers Council, and Uzbekistan Film Commission.
The first event within the framework of the festival began with a photo exhibition “The History of Uzbek Cinema” at the Palace of Youth Creativity. Well-known masters of cinema, actors, media workers were invited to the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

Director General of Uzbekkino National Agency Furkat Zokirov and others noted that attention paid in Uzbekistan to development of national cinema calls on creative workers to work with even greater responsibility.

The exhibition presents 70 photographs, including those that tell about the “Star of the East” film factory (now Uzbekfilm) that started its activities in 1925, as well first Uzbek feature films such as the “Minaret of death” (Ulim minorasi), “The second wife” (Ikkinchi khotin). Visitors can become familiar with photographs depicting scenes from such films of the last century as “The whole neighborhood talks about this (Makhallada duv-duv gap), “Tashkent, city of bread” (Toshkent – non shakhri), “Mischievous child” (Shum bola), “The seventh bullet” (Yettinchi o’q), “Revolt of daughter-in-laws” (Kelinlar qo’zg’oloni), “Who are you?” (Siz kimsiz?), films created during Independence – “Homeland” (Vatan), “Resistance” (Sabot).

A press conference with participation of organizers and the jury of the festival, out-of-competition screening of the film “Night accident” (Tungi avariya) within the framework of full-length future films competition, and the documentary “The history of silent Uzbek film” (Ovozsiz o’zbek kinosining tarikhi) were also held.
