The 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union continues its work.
UzA correspondent spoke with Wilson Soto Palacios, a member of the Parliament of Peru.
“The Assembly is organized at a high level, and all the necessary conditions for open dialogue have been created”, said Wilson Soto Palacios. “What is particularly important is that this major event addresses vital issues that affect all nations. This is further confirmed by the selection of the main theme of the Assembly: “Parliamentary Action for Social Progress and Justice”. Only when justice is at the core of every issue can the outcome be truly positive.
I am one of the youngest members of the Congress of the Republic of Peru. Participating in the Assembly and exchanging views with representatives of parliaments from countries with extensive experience is a valuable learning opportunity for me.
Uzbekistan is a country with a rich history and a vast culture that carefully preserves its traditions and values. I have visited various scenic locations and mosques. The country’s cultural sites and tourist centers are impressive in their quality. Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage has left a deep impression on me. The people are kind, open, and very sincere. Through learning about the country’s cultural and historical background, I have come to know Uzbekistan even more closely. I was amazed to learn that Uzbekistan, with a population of over 37 million, ranks seventh globally in gold production.
Peru is also a country with a rich history and culture. Our cuisine is very diverse and unique. We warmly invite our Uzbek friends to visit Peru!”
