UzChess Cup 2026: Abdusattorov to play against Mamedyarov
The UzChess Cup 2026 international chess tournament, with a total prize fund of $121,500, is taking place in Tashkent.
The first-round matches in the Masters group have been completed. Mukhiddin Madaminov defeated Ian Nepomniachtchi of Russia, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov of Azerbaijan defeated Vidit Gujrathi of India, and Nikolas Theodorou of Greece beat Hans Niemann of the United States.
The matches between Shamsiddin Vokhidov and Arjun Erigaisi of India, as well as between Nodirbek Yakubboev and Nodirbek Abdusattorov, ended in draws.
Today, as part of the second round, the following matchups will take place: I. Nepomniachtchi – V. Gujrathi, N. Abdusattorov – Sh. Mamedyarov, A. Erigaisi – N. Yakubboev, H. Niemann – Sh. Vokhidov, M. Madaminov – N. Theodorou.
