Nodirbek Abdusattorov wins a bronze at the FIDE Freestyle Chess World Championship 2026

Nodirbek Abdusattorov took third place at the FIDE Freestyle Chess World Championship 2026 in Weissenhaus, Germany.

At the tournament with a $300,000 prize fund, Nodirbek beat Vincent Keymer in the third-place match, 2.5:1.5, and earned $40,000. He also qualified for the 2027 FIDE Freestyle Chess World Championship.

Javokhir Sindarov drew with American Levon Aronian in the match for the seventh and eighth places. According to the rules, L. Aronian finished seventh with the black pieces, and J. Sindarov ranked eighth and received a $10,000 prize.

Norwegian chess player Magnus Carlsen defeated American Fabiano Caruana in the match for the world champion’s title.
