Statistics: Uzbekistan and Japan are rapidly expanding tourist exchange

In 2025, a notable increase was recorded in mutual tourist travel between Uzbekistan and Japan.

According to the National Statistics Committee, a significant rise in mutual tourist interest between the citizens of the two countries has been observed from January to November of the current year.

Thus, 2.7 thousand citizens of Uzbekistan visited Japan for tourism, 16.2% more than in the same period last year. Tourism accounted for the leading share of trips – 2.2 thousand people. In addition, 294 citizens traveled to visit relatives, 137 for education purposes, 58 for official purposes, and 4 for medical treatment.

At the same time, about 30,000 Japanese citizens visited Uzbekistan, reflecting a 41.1% increase. In the breakdown of travel purposes, tourism remains the leading category, accounting for 27.6 thousand people. A total of 1.5 thousand citizens arrived in Uzbekistan to visit relatives, 784 for business purposes, and 71 for education.
