Uzbekistan’s young players take part in the FIDE World Youth Chess Championships 2026
The FIDE World Youth Chess Championships 2026 have kicked off in Montesilvano.
More than 800 chess players from 84 countries are participating in the championship. Nine athletes are defending Uzbekistan’s honor.
In the first round, Lazizabonu Komiljonova, Sarvinoz Bekmuratova, Nilufarkhon Imomquziyeva, and Mumtozbegim Mansurova defeated their opponents. Akobirkhon Saidaliyev, Rauf Qosimov, and Sadullo Azizov drew, while Rukia Olimova lost her match.
The tournament with a prize pool of $20,000 will run until June 26.
