Issues of implementing joint healthcare projects with Saudi Arabia discussed
As part of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Eldor Adilov met with members of a delegation led by Mohammad Abunayyan, Co-Chairman of the Saudi-Uzbek Business Council and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACWA, as well as with Omar Al Midani, Chief Executive Officer of Vision International Investment Company.
During the dialogue, issues regarding expanding bilateral cooperation in healthcare and accelerating the implementation of joint projects were discussed.
A modern, multidisciplinary hospital with 800 beds is planned to be built in Fergana region based on a public-private partnership.
To implement the project, the Ministry of Health signed an agreement with a consortium comprising Vision International Investment Company (Saudi Arabia) and KOC Construction Mekanik Elektrik Fe LLC (Uzbekistan).

The new medical institution will consolidate branches of five specialized medical centers currently operating in the region into a single complex, improving the quality of services provided.
This institution will provide high-tech care in the most complex areas not only to residents of the Fergana Valley but also to citizens of neighboring countries. Services will be provided in cardiac and neurosurgery, organ transplantation, nephrology and urology, orthopedics and traumatology, and medical radiology and diagnostics.
The complex will include intensive care and resuscitation departments with 160 beds, equipped with modern medical equipment and technology.
During the meeting, an agreement was signed to establish the modern medical educational cluster Fergana Plus.
The project provides for the construction of a medical university to train highly qualified specialists in accordance with international educational standards, a school (college) to train nurses, and a hotel complex.
Following the meeting, the sides emphasized that the implementation of the projects will contribute to improving the quality of medical services in the country and to the introduction of advanced foreign practices.
