Uzbekhydroenergo broadens its international partnership
As part of the Fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum, Uzbekhydroenergo JSC presented its investment potential, ongoing projects, and promising development opportunities to international partners and potential investors.
According to Ravshan Boykulov, head of the company’s press service, the exposition demonstrates the results of transformations underway in the hydropower sector, the progress of major investment projects, and development plans.
As part of the forum, a meeting was held between the management of Uzbekhydroenergo JSC and a delegation from one of Japan’s leading financial institutions – Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG Bank).
During the talks, issues regarding improving mechanisms for financing major hydropower investment projects, modernizing energy infrastructure, and attracting long-term financial resources were discussed.
Particular attention was paid to MUFG Bank’s international experience in financing major investment projects across the public and private sectors.
Representatives of MUFG Bank expressed interest in implementing Uzbekhydroenergo JSC’s investment programs and confirmed their readiness to participate in promising projects, drawing on their experience in international financing and capital markets. The parties also discussed adapting the bank's proposed indicative financing terms to the projects’ technical and economic parameters and strategic objectives.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to expand cooperation and to continue dialogue on implementing major investment projects in the hydropower sector.
