
As part of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to France, significant bilateral agreements were signed to strengthen financial and economic cooperation between the two countries.
During the Uzbekistan – France Business Forum, held within the framework of this visit, the Business Development Bank and the French Development Agency (AFD) signed the Key Terms Agreement for a €30 million credit line. This project aims to support women’s entrepreneurship and promote gender equality in Uzbekistan. The allocated funds will be used to finance enterprises that meet gender-related criteria, serving as an essential step toward expanding economic opportunities for women.
The implementation of this agreement will be carried out in accordance with the objectives set by the Presidential Resolution No. 96 of March 7, 2025, “On Additional Measures to Support the Development of Women’s Entrepreneurship”. It marks an essential step in creating a favorable business environment for women.
A Cooperation Agreement was also signed between the Business Development Bank and the Union of Arab and French Banks (UBAF) for €20 million. This agreement aims to strengthen strategic partnership in trade finance, establish correspondent banking relations, and implement investment projects, significantly expanding the cooperation potential between the financial institutions of both countries.
