AMMC awarded prestigious international certifications
The Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC) has been awarded the internationally recognized “The Copper Mark” and “The Molybdenum Mark” certifications by the Copper Mark organization, established in 2019 with the support of the International Copper Association.
According to the AMMC, these certifications are strategically important, as they enhance the competitiveness of copper and molybdenum products in European and global markets.
The newly obtained quality marks officially confirm that AMMC operates in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and adheres to the principles of responsible production. Notably, AMMC has become the first enterprise in the CIS region to receive these certifications. During the international audit, the company’s operations were assessed against 32 criteria and met all requirements, receiving positive evaluations in every category.

In practical terms, this achievement provides direct access to international markets without unnecessary trade barriers and enables AMMC to establish partnerships with multinational corporations as a verified and trusted supplier. The certifications also strengthen investor and public confidence, reduce ESG-related risks, and create more favorable opportunities for securing financing from international financial institutions.

The use of raw materials sourced from a “Responsible Producer” further enhances the competitiveness of products manufactured by Uzbekistan’s electrical engineering industry in global markets.
In addition, the company’s compliance with international standards helps strengthen Uzbekistan’s international standing in environmental responsibility, social policy, and human rights protection.
These prestigious certifications are issued by Copper Mark. The certification scheme is recognized by the London Metal Exchange, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (which comprises 38 member countries; in February 2026, Uzbekistan signed a memorandum of cooperation with this organization), as well as a number of other international institutions.
