KEXIM to allocate a grant to the National Children’s Medical Center
The Minister of Health, Eldor Adilov, met with a delegation led by Executive Director and Vice President of the Korea Exim Bank (KEXIM), Seo Jung-hwa, at the Fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum.
During the negotiations, it was noted that the Government of the Republic of Korea and KEXIM are strategic partners of Uzbekistan in modernizing the national healthcare system. Implemented projects contribute to improving the quality of medical care, developing the industry’s infrastructure, and introducing advanced technologies.
Currently, several major projects are underway with KEXIM’s participation, including the construction of a modern multidisciplinary medical center for adults ($124 million); the construction of a National Cancer Center ($127.5 million); the creation of a higher medical educational institution ($70 million); and the equipping of regional medical institutions with modern medical equipment ($74 million).
Following the meeting, a memorandum of support for the National Children’s Medical Center’s project was signed. According to the document, KEXIM will provide a $3 million grant to modernize the Center’s engineering infrastructure and ensure the stable, long-term operation of medical equipment.
The parties expressed confidence that this cooperation will strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
