Study of France’s water supply experience
A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Tokhir Khaydarov, First Deputy Chairman of Uzsuvtaminot JSC, conducted a working visit to France. During this visit, they held meetings and visited multiple facilities to examine advanced engineering practices, modernization efforts for water supply and wastewater systems, and the adoption of digital technologies in the sector.
In particular, members of the delegation visited the digital technology center of the French company SUEZ, where they met with the organization’s head, Samuel Loison.
During the talks, promising areas of cooperation, digitalization processes, and reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan were discussed.

Issues related to the installation of smart meters for consumers were also considered as part of the international project “Transformation of drinking water supply and sewerage systems in the city of Tashkent”, implemented by Toshkent Shahar Suv Taminoti JSC in partnership with SUEZ.
The parties exchanged views on the current progress of the work and the next tasks.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to expand cooperation and to implement joint projects consistently.
As part of the visit, the delegation also reviewed the process of reconstructing sewer pipes in Villeneuve-la-Garenne in northern France.

According to the technology presented by specialists, the inner surfaces of the pipes are restored using specialized lining materials. This eliminates the need for earthworks, helping avoid inconvenience to the population and significantly reducing both time and costs.
This experience is of great importance for the further modernization of the country’s water supply and wastewater infrastructure, improving service quality and the widespread introduction of modern technologies in the sector.
