Uzbekistan’s wrestlers finish the Asian Championships with 15 medals
The U23 Asian Wrestling Championships have concluded in Da Nang, Vietnam.
In freestyle wrestling, Sherzod Poyonov won a silver medal in the up-to-97 kg weight class. Shakhzodbek Yarashev (up to 70 kg) and Fazliddin Nasriddinov (up to 74 kg) earned bronze medals. Thus, the Uzbek team finished the championship with one silver and two bronze medals.
The Greco-Roman wrestling team, led by Rustam Assakalov, also achieved an excellent result. Uzbekistan’s athletes won 4 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medals, which allowed them to take first place in the overall team standings with 189 points.
In women’s wrestling, Uzbekistan’s representatives also performed successfully, winning one gold, one silver, and three bronze medals.
