
At the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, a solemn ceremony was held in Seoul to appoint a new ambassador for the tourism brand of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Korea. The honorary title was awarded to Kang Da-eun, Secretary General of Tourism Promotion Organization for Global Cities (TPO).
Members of the Parliament of the Republic of Korea, leading experts in tourism and culture, media professionals, and well-known bloggers attended the event.
During the presentation, the participants were informed about Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, including the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan “Samarkand – the Tourist Gateway of New Uzbekistan”, as well as about the rich historical and cultural heritage and unique tourist destinations.
It was noted that the launch of direct flights on the Busan – Tashkent route, carried out on June 4 this year, marked a significant milestone in the expansion of cultural, economic, and tourism ties between the two countries.
In her speech, Kang Da-eun emphasized that being appointed a tourism brand ambassador for Uzbekistan is a great honor and a significant opportunity for her to promote the country’s unique tourism products internationally. According to her, the accumulated experience of interaction and the high level of trust between people create a solid foundation for further strengthening partnership and mutual understanding.
The guests were introduced to national melodies and songs, and also had the opportunity to taste traditional Uzbek dishes.
