The flow of tourists from South Korea is growing
Due to the growing partnership in tourism between Uzbekistan and South Korea, more Korean tourists are now visiting Uzbekistan.
In the first half of 2026, 26,500 tourists from South Korea visited Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan ranked third in terms of tourist flow among long-distance tourism markets.
Korean tourists’ interest in Uzbekistan is also clearly evident in Bukhara region. The ancient city’s rich history, the Great Silk Road, its unique architectural monuments, and national culture are attracting foreign tourists.
By September 2026, Bukhara welcomed more than 4,000 tourists from South Korea.

The growing number of tourists highlights the need to adapt tourism services in the region to better serve the Korean market. Key priorities include expanding Korean-language information and services, creating specialized tour packages, and promoting the activities of Korean-speaking tour guides.
In addition, efforts are underway to promote Bukhara’s historical and cultural, gastronomic, and pilgrimage tourism potential widely in the South Korean market.
