Uzbekistan to strengthen cooperation with the United States and Finland
First Deputy Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodiq Safoyev met with Major General Bobby Ginn, Adjutant General of Mississippi.
The meeting focused on the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States and on developing practical cooperation with Mississippi.
Particular attention was paid to the cooperation program between Uzbekistan and the Mississippi National Guard, which has been in effect since 2012. It was noted that specialist exchanges, joint training exercises, and emergency preparedness activities have been conducted under the program.
The meeting also explored ways to expand this cooperation in areas such as emergency response, search and rescue, critical infrastructure protection, and specialist training.

An online meeting with Ville Skinnari, Chair of the Finnish Parliament’s Friendship Group with Uzbekistan, focused on the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for further development.
The importance of making more effective use of existing opportunities to expand trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the two countries was emphasized. In particular, deep processing of mineral resources, improved energy efficiency, industrial digitalization, and the introduction of modern technologies were identified as promising areas of cooperation.
The parties also exchanged views on implementing joint environmental and social projects in the Aral Sea region and on expanding cooperation in education, vocational training, and the exchange of best practices.
