Uzbekistan, Finland and Sweden enhance collaboration

The First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodiq Safoyev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden Martin Rosen and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Finland Johanna Maria Ögren.

Promoting Uzbekistan’s friendly relations with Finland and Sweden, enriching inter-parliamentary cooperation with new content, and expanding trade and economic relations were discussed at the meeting.

It was emphasized that fostering relations in education and personnel training, digital technologies, ecology, and water resources management, along with strengthening cooperation between think tanks and continuing the Central Asia – Northern Europe Dialogue, is crucial.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to activate regular dialogue between inter-parliamentary cooperation groups and parliamentary committees, to exchange experience in implementing parliamentary control, and to continue cooperation within the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
