Uzbekistan moves up in the FIDE rankings
FIDE has published the updated October 2026 ranking list.
Following the 46th Chess Olympiad in Samarkand, the rankings of Uzbekistan teams and individual players have improved substantially from their previous positions.

After a three-month break, Uzbekistan’s skilled chess player Nodirbek Abdusattorov delivered an outstanding performance in Samarkand, securing a gold medal in the first round and finishing fifth in the FIDE ratings with 2779.5 points after gaining +18 rating points.
Javokhir Sindarov secured fourth place in the TOP 100 rankings with 2781.5 points.

Nodirbek Yoqubboyev, who has repeatedly secured crucial wins for Uzbekistan at the Chess Olympiad, earned +27 rating points for the first time, crossing the 2700 mark in his career for the first time.
In the October world chess rankings, Magnus Carlsen leads with 2823 points, followed by Hikaru Nakamura and Fabiano Caruana, who complete the top three.

Uzbekistan has climbed one spot to occupy the fifth place in the FIDE country rankings.
The average rating of Uzbekistan national team's top 10 chess players is 2637.
The USA, India, China, and Russia make up the top four in the national federations ranking.
The Uzbekistan women’s national chess team moved up one place to 20th in the TOP-100 after the average rating of its top 10 female players reached 2236 in the global team rankings.
