Sindarov strengthens his standing in the FIDE rankings
More than 10 Uzbek chess players across various age categories were included in the International Chess Federation’s updated rankings for August 2026.
In particular, Uzbekistan’s leading chess player, Javokhir Sindarov (2777), ranks fourth among the world’s top 100. Nodirbek Abdusattorov is eighth after losing four rating points from the previous month.
Nodirbek Yakubboyev (39th), Rustam Kasimjanov (52nd), and Shamsiddin Vokhidov (61st) are also among the world’s top players.
In the women’s top 100, national team members Afruza Khamdamova and Gulrukhbegim Tokhirjonova rank 26th and 82nd, respectively.
In addition, Uzbekistan’s Mukhiddin Madaminov, Muhammadzokhid Suyarov, Humoyun Bekmuratov, Umida Omonova, and Nilufarkhon Imomkoziyeva were recognized among the world’s most talented players in the youth rankings.
