Ambassador of Uzbekistan Sardor Rustambayev met with Special Representative of the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France for Economic Diplomacy in Central Asia, Pascal Lorot, during which prospects for Uzbekistan – France cooperation in the economic sphere were discussed, in Paris, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

The Special Representative highly appreciated the Address of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Oliy Majlis and the announcement of 2020 as the Year of Science, Enlightenment and Digital Economy Development and expressed his readiness to assist in implementation of various activities in digital economy together with relevant ministries and agencies of France and Uzbekistan.

Pascal Lorot expressed gratitude to the Uzbek side for the meaningful meetings during his stay on February 6-8 in Uzbekistan. It was emphasized that the negotiations in Tashkent showed mutual interest in strengthening mutually beneficial bilateral partnership through the implementation of joint projects.

The French side noted with satisfaction the progress in implementing such projects as construction of Beldersay – Chimgan – Nanai International All Seasons Resort in Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region, water supply management in Tashkent and transformation of Samarkand communal services, construction of photovoltaic power plants in Samarkand region, construction of agro centers in Uzbekistan, provision of heat supply to Tashkent and others. The interest of other French companies in establishing close cooperation with Uzbek partners was also emphasized.
