Uzbekistan and Tajikistan expand cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector
As part of the Uzbekistan – Tajikistan Business Forum on Pharmaceuticals, Director of the Agency for the Development of Medical and Pharmaceutical Industries Abdulla Azizov met with a delegation led by Salomuddin Yusufi, First Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The forum was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan, the State Supervision Service and its territorial department for Sughd region, the State Unitary Enterprise “Expertise and Testing of Pharmaceutical and Medical Products”, as well as pharmaceutical companies from the two countries.

Participants considered the current state of the pharmaceutical sectors in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, highlighting opportunities and potential areas for collaboration. Focus was given to localizing medicine and medical equipment manufacturing, boosting exports, and pursuing joint investment initiatives.

As part of the forum, members of the Tajikistan delegation became familiar with projects being implemented at the BioPharma City pharmaceutical cluster, its modern production facilities, infrastructure, and localization opportunities. They also studied the activities of the Grand Pharm Logistics center. The guests were shown how pharmaceutical products are received, stored, sorted, and delivered.

During B2B meetings, representatives from pharmaceutical companies from both countries discussed proposals to enter the Tajikistan market, increase mutual trade, share technologies, and launch joint manufacturing projects.
An exhibition of medicines and medical equipment manufactured in Uzbekistan was held for the forum participants.
Following the forum, the parties agreed to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry.
