
In Riga, with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a roundtable was held to promote the country’s tourism potential. Representatives of leading Latvian travel agencies and specialized companies attended the event.
Participants were introduced to the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, “Samarkand – Tourist Gateway of New Uzbekistan”, as well as comprehensive information about the historical and cultural heritage of cities such as Bukhara, Tashkent, Khiva, and others.
Special attention was given to the current state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Latvia in tourism. It was noted that such events strengthen bilateral ties and increase mutual interest between the two countries’ peoples.
Latvian tour operators highly praised the large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan to develop the tourism sector.
As part of the roundtable, a special certificate was presented to Vladimir Koryagin, who was granted the status of Ambassador of Uzbekistan’s tourism brand in Latvia.
Following the event, an agreement was reached to intensify tourism exchanges, including plans to organize an upcoming info-tour to Uzbekistan for representatives of tourism companies from the Baltic countries.
