The Tashkent Metro transported over 155 million passengers in six months
In recent years, a large-scale modernization of the subway has been underway in Tashkent. New sky train lines are being put into operation, routes are being extended to remote areas, and modern, comfortable conditions are being created at stations.
Ongoing activities are contributing to the growth of passenger traffic. According to the National Statistics Committee, in January-June 2026, 155.6 million passengers used the Tashkent Metro services, which is 7 percent more than in the same period last year.
Increasing passenger numbers indicate greater residents’ confidence in the subway. Due to its speed, convenience, and comfortable conditions, the metro remains one of the most sought-after modes of public transportation in the capital at any time of year and plays a key role in the development of the urban transportation system.
