For residents of Tashkent, the Tashkent Metro remains one of the most convenient, fastest, and most reliable forms of public transport. The steady growth in demand for metro services in recent years is clearly reflected in the increasing number of passengers.
According to preliminary data from the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a total of 286.8 million passengers used metro services in 2025. This figure is 6.1 percent higher compared to 2024.
Over the past year, the metro served an average of 785,600 passengers daily. This once again confirms the metro’s important role in the city’s transport system.
The dynamics of passenger growth by year are as follows:
in 2020 – 38.8 million;
in 2021 – 101.8 million;
in 2022 – 136.7 million;
in 2023 – 172 million;
in 2024 – 270.3 million;
in 2025 – 286.8 million.
Over the past five years, the number of Tashkent Metro users has increased severalfold. This trend is associated with the expansion of metro lines, the commissioning of new stations, reduced train intervals, and improved service quality.
