Beijing hosts the Second Forum of Rectors of Public Administration Academies “Central Asia – China”.

The department head at the Public Administration Academy Guzal Sadiyeva presented detailed information about this forum.

– Under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Uzbekistan is rapidly developing.

The main areas of cooperation are deepening the political dialogue between the two countries and further intensifying joint efforts to strengthen regional security. Particular attention is also paid to expanding trade, economic, and investment partnerships on a mutually beneficial basis, especially in the non-resource and technological sectors, attracting Chinese investment in priority production sectors of the Uzbekistan economy.

In recent years, cooperation has been expanding thanks to a reliable high-level dialogue between our countries and regular meetings of the heads of state. It is important to note that this cooperation conquers new historical milestones yearly.

The well-known Chinese newspaper “People’s Daily” published an article by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on relations between Uzbekistan and China. The article notes that China became the first country that Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited in 2024, which has a deep symbolic meaning. It is emphasized that the relationship is going through “the best period in its history”.

Indeed, by now, a unique multi-level system for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation has been formed between our countries, including strategic dialogue at the level of the Intergovernmental Committee, the Inter-Parliamentary Group, heads of foreign policy agencies, as well as active humanitarian and interregional exchanges.

The Public Administration Academy under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan is also strengthening permanent ties with the National Academy of Public Administration of the People’s Republic of China.

These days, the delegation led by the Rector of the Academy Adham Bekmurodov is taking part in the second forum of rectors of Public Administration Academies “Central Asia – China”. The forum is attended not only by rectors but also by heads of government agencies of different levels in China, representatives of the international community, financial institutions and development institutions, leading scientists, and foreign experts in public administration, energy, transport, poverty reduction, food security, and sustainable economic growth.

The participation of our delegation in such a large-scale international event will develop relations between global and foreign institutions and development funds of the Academy, the implementation of promising joint projects.

For information, it is worth noting that in 2023-2024, 5 professors and researchers of the Academy went to China to undergo training and internship programs based on Chinese grants, as well as 40 civil servants were sent under training and internship programs organized by the National Academy of Governance of China.

A bilateral meeting with the Vice President of the National Academy of Governance of China Gong Weibin was organized as part of the forum. The Rector of the Academy, Adham Bekmurodov, noted that such areas as “Digital Management”, “Artificial Intelligence in Public Administration”, “Green Development” remain extremely relevant today, which indicates the need to expand the scope of cooperation.

The participants discussed the prospects for cooperation with the National Academy of Governance of China for 2024-2025 and promising joint projects. Agreements were reached on upcoming joint projects.

The forum will run until October 23.
