The President of Uzbekistan visits the State Hermitage Museum

As part of the cultural program of an informal meeting in Saint Petersburg, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, along with the heads of state of the Commonwealth of Independent States, visited the State Hermitage Museum.

The leaders were introduced to the exhibitions at one of the world’s largest museums, which holds a unique collection of artworks and monuments from world cultures. During the tour, the halls of the Main museum complex were visited, reflecting key stages in the history and artistic heritage of Russia and Europe.

The heads of delegations visited the Alexander Hall, viewed the European decorative silver exhibition, and toured the Picket Hall and the Armorial Hall, spaces intended for solemn ceremonies and official events.

Particular interest was drawn to the Gold Treasury, featuring unique works crafted from precious metals, and the Pavilion Hall of the Small Hermitage, home to the legendary mechanical “Peacock” clock.

During the visit, the importance of strengthening cultural dialogue, preserving historical heritage, and developing humanitarian cooperation among the Commonwealth states was emphasized.
