The President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić is on an official visit to Uzbekistan at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Head of Serbia and his spouse visited the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent, which is a genuine pearl of Islamic architecture and a symbol of the Third Renaissance of Uzbekistan.

The distinguished guest, accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Achilbay Ramatov, the Center’s leadership, and scientists, became familiar with this unique architectural complex and received detailed information about its significance to world science, including the Islamic world.

In the Center, the President of Serbia visited a museum, exhibition halls, a library, an archive, an information technology center, a manuscript department, calligraphy workshops, and a repository of Islamic heritage.

The guests were particularly impressed by the Islamic Academy, information resource center, library, conference hall, and other structures built in a unique architectural style.

The Serbian delegation was also informed about the Center’s goals and objectives. It was noted that it was built in harmony with ancient architectural traditions and national decorative elements. Portals 34 meters high are installed on four sides of the building, and a 65-meter-high national-style dome rises in the center.

President Aleksandar Vučić became familiar with expositions and expressed confidence that such projects aimed at widely presenting the priceless historical and spiritual legacy of the Uzbekistan people will bring significant results.
