President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the projects of the “Taraqqiyot” industrial-service zone established in Yangi Namangan district.

In Uzbekistan, technoparks and small industrial zones are being consistently created to provide entrepreneurs with favorable conditions, diversify the economy, and increase employment opportunities. Today, 73 industrial zones with a total area of 1,500 hectares are operating in Namangan region.

A vivid example is the Sokhil mahalla of Yangi Namangan district. In the past, entrepreneurs and artisans worked under limited home-based conditions, but now they conduct their activities in a modern complex with developed infrastructure.

The zone, established on 10 hectares based on the “Gijduvan experience”, has brought together 113 projects. To ensure their stable operation, the budget financed the installation of power grids, water supply, and sewerage systems, as well as the construction of internal roads. As a result, production and services worth approximately 500 billion UZS per year have been created, along with the creation of 4,800 new jobs. A total of 170 entrepreneurs from neighboring mahallas have been involved, and more than 350 households have established cooperative-based production, which has significantly increased the population’s economic activity.

Of particular importance is the opportunity to retrain the unemployed in modern professions using ready equipment and practical facilities. This contributes to reducing unemployment and poverty, while improving people’s well-being.

The Head of State reviewed the work of car service centers and spoke with local specialists.

“In the country, new automobile plants are being launched, household incomes are rising, and the number of cars is increasing. However, service facilities are not yet keeping pace with this growth. In particular, maintenance of foreign car brands remains underdeveloped. If this work is organized systematically, it can provide employment and improve the quality of services”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted.

In this regard, instructions were given to establish such service centers in other districts as well and to train qualified specialists.

The President also reviewed an exhibition of furniture produced in the industrial zone. The importance of supporting entrepreneurs and expanding opportunities for young people to gain experience and employment was emphasized.

At the same time, it was noted that such complexes should apply modern approaches to occupational safety. Fire and technical safety must be ensured, along with the creation of conditions not only for work but also for rest.

The Head of State was also presented with information about major urban planning and housing construction projects being implemented in Namangan region. These initiatives are of great importance for creating modern living conditions for the population and for the comprehensive development of the territories.
