
Meetings were held at the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National Olympic Committee with Shalva Gogoladze, Minister of Sports of Georgia, who recently arrived in Uzbekistan on a working visit.
The Minister of Sports of Georgia noted that the achievements of Uzbekistan athletes at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games were remarkable in every aspect. He expressed great appreciation for the extensive opportunities created by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for athletes and coaches in Uzbekistan.

Minister of Sports Adham Ikramov spoke about the ongoing sports reforms in Uzbekistan, the construction of modern sports complexes, and the state-supported training conditions for athletes, both physically and psychologically. He also highlighted the historical significance of friendly relations with Georgia.
During the meeting, both sides shared a vision for strengthening friendly relations between the two countries and organizing joint training camps.

At the meeting, discussions focused on thorough preparations for the European Kurash Championship, Uzbekistan’s national sport, which will be held in Batumi, Georgia, from April 9 to 15 this year, ensuring it meets the highest standards.
In a conversation with Oybek Qosimov, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, and Shahruzlo Makhmudov, Deputy Minister of Sports of Uzbekistan, new stages of bilateral cooperation were discussed. Key topics included joint training camps for national teams from both countries in preparation for major multi-sport events and the exchange of expertise between specialists.

The delegation of the Ministry of Sports of Georgia also visited the Museum of Olympic and Paralympic Glory in Tashkent, where they explored the rich history of Uzbek sports and its current achievements.
