The International Dance Festival “Lazgi” opens
The opening of the 3rd International Dance Festival “Lazgi” took place in Khiva at the Ichan Kala historical complex.
A message from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the festival participants was read out by the Head of the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva.
“It is gratifying that the International Dance Festival ‘Lazgi’ – a unique art form that, through remarkably graceful movements, reflects the beautiful soul and deep feelings of our people, whose glorious history and culture span more than three millennia – is becoming an effective platform for cultural dialogue among nations. ‘Lazgi’ is a classical musical monument that, for centuries, has celebrated the ideals of goodness, beauty, peace, and friendship, and serves as a symbol of grandeur, like the minarets of Khiva reaching toward the sky”, the President’s message states.
Experienced domestic and foreign directors, composers, performers, renowned dancers, artists, and scholars helped organize the festival.
At the opening, national melodies and songs from different peoples of the world were performed, vibrant dance numbers were presented, and well-known performers and dance masters showcased songs and dances in the “Lazgi” style.
The event was a true celebration of music and art.
