The 34th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence was solemnly celebrated in Jizzakh region. The holiday, held this year under the motto “In the name of the Motherland, in the name of the nation, in the name of the people!”, became not just a ceremony, but a demonstration of people’s well-being.
Addressing the solemn event in Jizzakh Urda Ecological Park, Acting Hokim of the region Ulugbek Mustafoyev noted that independence is not just a historical date, but a symbol of responsibility and unity in building the future.
The changes that have been taking place in the region in recent years are the result of fundamental reforms. This year, almost 10 trillion UZS have been allocated for the repair of roads, the renovation of water supply and sewerage systems, as well as the construction of schools, hospitals, and residential buildings.
Agriculture has harvested 860,000 tons of grain, more than 1,000 tons of cocoons, and over 2 million tons of other agricultural products. The introduction of new agricultural technologies, including Xinjiang’s experience in cotton planting, as well as the widespread involvement of women in sericulture, contributes to the growth of the incomes of the population.
The region’s tourism potential is also being fully revealed. Ecotourism zones, hostels, and wellness centers are being built around the Aydar-Arnasay Lake system, creating modern opportunities for local and foreign tourists. The routes of the “tourist ring”, covering Zaamin, Bakhmal, Jizzakh, and Aydarkul, open a new era in the economy of the region.
Noticeable changes are also taking place in the fields of healthcare and education. New medical clusters, digital polyclinics, and systems implemented based on the Turkish experience are already showing their effectiveness. Young people from Jizzakh are achieving success at international robotics competitions, proudly defending the country’s honor.
The humanitarian and spiritual aspects of Independence Day also deserve attention. A group of convicts was pardoned by the Presidential Decree. At the same time, active entrepreneurs, artists, and scientists, as well as workers, were awarded state awards.
The concert, featuring famous artists and accompanied by fireworks that lit up the sky, which took place following the festive event in Jizzakh, left unforgettable impressions in the hearts of compatriots.
