The work on full disclosure of the potential of all regions of the country continues. On December 31 of last year, the Presidential Resolution on the accelerated socio-economic development of Jizzakh region was adopted, which envisages specific measures to attract $2 billion in investments, increase exports to $285 million, and provide employment for 168,000 people by 2025.

These tasks are consistently implemented. Over the past six months, 200 projects have been implemented in Jizzakh region, covering industry, services, and agriculture. The total amount of attracted investments amounts to $662 million.

A special reform headquarters has been established in Zaamin district to enhance the effectiveness of the reforms.

During the visit, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev viewed a presentation of new projects planned for implementation in the region.

In particular, an Agro-Center has been established on the principle of a “single window” to consolidate all agricultural services in one location. Modern approaches focused on increasing crop yields have a positive impact on the quality of food products in the region and contribute to the growth of the population’s incomes.

Jizzakh region is considered a reference region for the development of potato breeding. To date, primary seed production of 12 potato varieties, both domestic and foreign selections, has been organized at the Zaamin experimental and research station.

If the traditional process of growing seed potatoes takes 6-7 years and includes 8 stages, the new technology reduces it to 4 stages and 2 years. Within the framework of the initiative, 12 tons of super elite seed potatoes will be distributed free of charge to households, which will yield 120 tons of seeds.

There are also plans to sow legume crops and construct pumping stations and main pipelines on a canal in Zarbdor district.

Due to its diverse natural landscape, comprising mountains and steppes, Jizzakh region has a unique tourist potential. The development of the tourist and recreational zone “Zomin”, the reconstruction of Zaamin Airport, and the construction of new roads have significantly expanded the industry’s opportunities. Recreation zones have been established on the banks of the six largest canals. Shortly, a modern tourist cluster will be built on the shores of the Aidar-Arnasay lake system.

“We strive to develop industry in every district and create jobs. Modern enterprises are appearing where there used to be bare steppe. People also receive income from their crafts and homestead plots. But these are only today’s results. A new generation is emerging, and the knowledge and ambitions of our young people are expanding. Already now we must lay the foundation for their successful life. If we wisely use the existing opportunities, Zaamin district can eliminate unemployment”, mentioned President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

As a reminder, a palace, an arts school, a comprehensive school, and a sports complex are being built nearby in the new center of Kukdala district. The Head of State emphasized the importance of creating such convenient conditions for children and recommended that this approach be applied in other regions as well. Thus, a palace of culture and an arts school are planned to be built in Zaamin district.

The projected palace of culture will have 300 seats and serve more than 45 thousand residents of the district center. The folklore-ethnographic ensemble “Zomin Sayqali” and 13 creative centers will work here.

Responsible persons have been given instructions to ensure the implementation of these projects and further development of the social and economic sphere in the region.

Thereupon, the President has completed his visit to Jizzakh region.
