
A meeting of heads of parliamentary staff was organized within the framework of the 150th IPU Assembly and the Spring Session of the Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments.
The event was attended by the heads of the staff of the Senate of Uzbekistan, the Senate of Kazakhstan, the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan, representatives from the staff of the Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan, as well as officials from international parliamentary organizations.

Issues of strengthening cooperation between parliamentary offices, exchanging experiences in lawmaking, expertise, and work with international ratings, as well as establishing cooperation on innovative approaches in information technology, particularly the introduction of electronic parliamentary systems, were discussed at the meeting.
At the session of the Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments, Kudrat Nurullayev, Chief of Staff of the Senate of Uzbekistan, made a presentation on Uzbekistan’s parliamentary system.

The parliamentary reforms implemented in Uzbekistan, including legislative processes in the bicameral parliamentary system, the Senate’s right to initiate legislation, open dialogue with citizens, and the practice of considering public opinion, were highly appreciated by the event participants.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the further development of relations between the parliaments of the Central Asian countries and the establishment of practical cooperation between the parliamentary offices on a systematic basis.
