Scientific-practical conference in Muynak
A scientific-practical conference “Joint actions to preserve environmental sustainability in the Aral Sea region” took place in Muynak.
The event was organized by the Nukus Branch of the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.
Representatives of the Executive Directorate of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea in Kazakhstan (in online format), the leadership of the Fund’s Agency in Tashkent, scientists of the Karakalpak Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, employees of specialized research institutes of Karakalpakstan, as well as representatives of the International Innovation Center of the Aral Sea Region, ministries and departments attended the event.
The participants discussed issues related to ensuring environmental sustainability in the Aral Sea Region, developing coordinated approaches to the rational use of natural resources, and finding scientifically sound solutions to urgent global environmental problems. Scientific reports and presentations were presented on the restoration of ecosystems in the Aral Sea Region, adaptation to climate change, efficient use of water resources, and the introduction of innovative solutions. The prospects for expanding regional cooperation and sharing best practices were also considered. Special attention was paid to implementing the initiatives of the Heads of State of the Central Asian countries put forward at the Regional Ecological Summit (RES 2026) held in Astana.
Following the event, the participants took part in an environmental campaign aimed at greening and improving people’s ecological culture.
