Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Austria Abat Fayzullayev presented a badge “For the Protection of Human Rights” to the Vice-President of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, Renate Winter. This has been reported by the Press Service of the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights.

The official awarding ceremony took place in December 2021 as part of the International Conference “Human Rights Education: International Experience and National Practice”.

The conference was organized by the National Center of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (NCHR) together with the OSCE and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.

During the forum, Academician Akmal Saidov stressed that Renate Winter is a great friend of Uzbekistan and for many years has made a feasible contribution to the eradication of child labor, and the protection of the rights of children and youth in the country.

It should be noted that Renate Winter, a member of the UN Human Rights Committee, is a well-known Austrian expert on children's law and the juvenile justice system, a judge of the Special Court for Sierra Leone.
