As part of the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, a delegation from Qatar, led by Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdulla Al-Ghanim, met with the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Nuriddin Ismailov.

The Speaker of Qatar’s Shura Council emphasized that the expansion and strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation, an essential component of bilateral relations, as well as the intensification of dialogue in this area, are mutually beneficial in all respects.

The signing of the historic agreement on the demarcation of state borders between Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan, as well as the successful holding of the first “Central Asia – European Union” summit in Samarkand was also highly praised and supported.

At the meeting, which was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, it was noted that inter-parliamentary relations should be taken to a new level, with increased activity of the inter-parliamentary friendship groups.
