Presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan visit a modern textile factory
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, accompanied by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, became familiar with the capabilities of Uzbekistan’s light industry.
The heads of state visited the Nigora factory, which is part of the Merganteks cotton-textile cluster in Bukhara region.


The factory, part of a $35 million project, provides a complete production cycle – covering everything from processing cotton raw materials to manufacturing finished fabrics and garments.
Garments and finished products made under the “Shoyigul” brand are mainly exported to European countries, especially Italy, Austria, the United Kingdom, and Germany. A total of 840 jobs have been created here.


The enterprise is equipped with modern, high-tech equipment from China, Germany, and Belgium that meets international standards. In the second phase, it is planned to launch the production of synthetic fibers and finished products made from them.
The distinguished guests toured the showroom and inspected the company’s finished products.


The Tajikistan delegation praised the quality of the enterprise’s products, which have achieved an annual export volume of $10 million.
The Presidents highlighted the importance of increasing collaboration between the top companies of both countries.
