These days, online selections are taking place to determine the participants of the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour 2025.

The names of the 9 participants of the tournament, to be held from February 7 to 14 in Weissenhaus, have been determined. Magnus Carlsen, Gukesh, Fabiano Caruana, Hikaru Nakamura, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Alireza Firouzja, Levon Aronian, Vincent Keymer and Viswanathan Anand will take part in the tournament.

Javokhir Sindorov and Shamsiddin Vohidov are also participating in the qualifying matches to determine the tenth participant of the tournament. Javokhir Sindorov scored 7.5 points among 20 chess players and reached the playoffs. He took third place, as he has six wins, three draws, and additional indicators. Denis Lazavik from Russia became second with 7.5 points (seven wins, a draw, and a loss), and Vladimir Fedoseev took first place with 8 points.

In the 1/8 finals, J.Sindorov defeated Wei Yi from China with a score of 1.5:0.5, and Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa from India with a score of 2:0 in the quarterfinals.

In the first semi-finals, J. Sindorov will face Yu Yangyi from China, and in the second round will play against Ian Nepomniachtchi, who competes under the FIDE flag, and Vladimir Fedoseev from Slovenia. The final match for the main round of the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour 2025 will take place between the winners.

Shamsiddin Vohidov took 19th place with six points out of a possible nine.

The total prize fund of the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour 2025 is $750,000, 88 percent of which will be distributed among the main round participants, and the remaining 12 percent will be distributed among the chess players who participated in the qualifying matches.
