New tourist resort

Ahead of Uzbekistan’s 35th anniversary of independence, the Edelweiss Resort & SPA tourist complex was inaugurated in the village of Mironkul, Samarkand district.

The complex, covering 40 hectares, had a total project cost of $22 million. It features a 160-bed hotel, indoor and outdoor pools, a spa and wellness center, and treatment rooms. The development has generated 150 permanent jobs.

Over 50,000 trees and shrubs have been planted on the grounds, with a drip irrigation system set up to water them.

Officials from the regional and district hokimiyats, tourism sector representatives, and residents attended the opening ceremony. It was highlighted that these projects help boost the region’s tourism potential, develop the service industry, and generate employment.
