Mokhira Abdullayeva, a representative of Fergana region, a student of the Fergana State University, won a bronze medal in the +81 kg weight category at the 2022 IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships, in Turkey.

Mokhira’s achievement, along with the bronze medal brought by another representative of the Uzbekistan team, Aziza Yakubova, was the first award for Uzbekistan in the history of the Women’s World Boxing Championships.

In the semi-finals of the World Championships, Mokhira Abdullayeva entered the ring against Khadija El-Mardi from Morocco. Abdullayeva injured her leg in the first round. After that, the judges did not allow the fight to continue, and as a result, the victory was awarded to the representative of Morocco. Mokhira became the bronze medalist.
