During a telephone conversation on June 5, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, warmly congratulated each other and the friendly peoples of both countries on the sacred holiday of Eid al-Adha, sincerely wishing peace, well-being, and prosperity.

Current issues regarding further developing multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Iran were also discussed.

The active contacts and exchanges between governments, ministries, and agencies were noted with satisfaction. There is an increase in mutual trade, cargo transportation, and the number of joint enterprises.

In May this year, Tehran successfully hosted the regular session of the Intergovernmental Commission, a business forum, and an industrial exhibition. A cooperation roadmap for 2025-2027 was adopted.

The importance of further advancing joint projects in trade, investment, transport and logistics, industry, and agriculture was emphasized.

The leaders of Uzbekistan and Iran also exchanged views on the regional agenda and the schedule of upcoming events.
