On November 9, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi as part of the Economic Cooperation Organization Summit in Tashkent.

Issues of further strengthening relations between Uzbekistan and Iran and enhancing practical interaction in trade, investment, innovation, and transport were discussed.

The ongoing active mutual contacts were noted with satisfaction.

The dynamics of growth in the volume of bilateral trade turnover continue. Cooperation projects are jointly implemented in various sectors of the economy.

Particular attention was paid to the full-scale implementation of previously reached agreements at the highest level.

Opportunities for enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation in industrial cooperation and localization, the agricultural sector, and logistics were emphasized.

The heads of Uzbekistan and Iran spoke in favor of developing cultural, humanitarian, and scientific exchange.

Issues on the regional agenda were also discussed, including in the context of the current situation in Afghanistan.
