This was stated by the representative of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Aziz Tatybayev at the conference “Uzbekistan – Germany: New horizons of cooperation” held in Tashkent, timed to coincide with the visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Germany.

“The large-scale reforms that have begun in Uzbekistan, initiated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, have given a powerful impetus to further strengthening Uzbekistan – Germany multifaceted cooperation. At the same time, the established active interaction at the expert level plays an important role, which contributes to establishing an interstate political dialogue, trust-based relations focused on the future.

Today, the parties are building up close contacts aimed at establishing Uzbekistan as a democratic rule of law state with a socially oriented market economy, as well as strengthening security and stability at all levels, including energy, environmental and political.

Aziz Tatybayev emphasized that the ongoing forum will positively contribute to practical Uzbekistan – Germany interaction, strengthening regional cooperation and developing new solutions for the full use of bilateral potential.

The conference, organized by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies (ISRS), the International Institute for Central Asia, and the German Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Central Asia, gathered political circles, representatives of parliaments, diplomatic corps, business communities, ministries, and agencies of the two countries. Experts from leading analytical centers in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and America, who arrived in Uzbekistan as observers for the upcoming referendum on constitutional reform, are also invited to the forum.
