The Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan held talks with Air Astana representatives.
The expansion of flights between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, the opening of new destinations, and the increase in flight frequency were discussed at the meeting.
The participants were informed about ongoing activities to accelerate the development of tourism infrastructure in Uzbekistan, expand the network of modern hotels and cultural-entertainment centers, and improve the transport and logistics system.
Increasing foreign tourists’ interest in the country’s cultural and historical heritage, including the cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, was also noted. The expansion of flights will create opportunities to explore new tourist sites in Uzbekistan, modern museums and exhibition complexes, reconstructed historical ensembles, and modern tourist infrastructure.
Following the talks, an agreement was reached to continue the dialogue within the framework of bilateral cooperation and develop specific proposals.
