The Day of Remembrance and Honor was widely celebrated in Surkhandarya region.

From early morning, representatives of the regional Hokimiyat, law enforcement agencies, heads of state and public organizations, labor veterans and home front workers, young people, and the general public gathered at the Memorial Square in Termez.

The participants, led by the region’s Hokim, U. Qosimov, laid flowers at the Grieving Mother Monument and honored the memory of compatriots who died in the name of a peaceful and prosperous life.

In accordance with the Presidential Decree of February 25, 2025, tribute and reverence were also paid to the veterans of the war and labor front of 1941-1945, in Surkhandarya region. They were solemnly awarded commemorative jubilee medals and one-time cash prizes. The events organized under the slogan “Heroism in the name of prosperity, peace, and defense of the Motherland will not be forgotten” are designed to honor the memory of compatriots who heroically died in fierce battles.

The main festive event took place in the Arts Palace in Termez.

The President’s festive greeting to the people of Uzbekistan was read out.
