
In connection with the Day of Remembrance and Honor, spiritual-enlightenment events are being held in Tashkent region under the motto “We don’t forget the heroic deed performed in the name of prosperity, peace, and defense of the Motherland”.
In particular, Tashkent region’s Hokim, Zoyir Mirzayev, visited the homes of the participants of the Second World War living in Akkurgan and Yuqorichirchiq districts, solemnly read out the congratulations of the President of Uzbekistan, and presented the veterans with a $10,000 cash prize, a commemorative jubilee medal “80th Anniversary of Victory in the Second World War”.
At the event, the participants enjoyed songs performed by artists.
Fayzulla Nurmatov, the Second World War participant from Akkurgan district, turned 105 this year. He has 7 children, 24 grandchildren, and more than 40 great-grandchildren.
At the meeting, Fayzulla Nurmatov prayed for peace and for the well-being of the country’s people. The concert program performed at the event gave everyone a festive mood.
