Germany’s KfW Development Bank actively participates in the reforms in Uzbekistan and supports essential projects.
This was emphasized during the negotiations held in the Congress Center of the city of Samarkand between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz.
In particular, the financial and technical assistance projects of the KfW Development Bank and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) were highly appreciated.
“We are assessing the results of economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany”, says Andreas Schneider, Director of the KfW Regional Office for Central Asia. “We recently visited the Ministry of Economy and Finance of your country. A Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation was signed. This can be called a new stage in our relations. Uzbekistan is our reliable partner in the Central Asian region. We are happy about this. We believe that this visit will take cooperation in all areas to a new level. Every time we come to Uzbekistan, we witness great changes. In particular, opportunities for investors are expanding. KfW Development Bank and the German government are in contact with your country’s relevant ministries and agencies. Observations show that Uzbekistan is a country of great opportunities. Changes are taking place in all areas. This is very important. Therefore, we intend to implement several projects. In particular, our initiatives to develop small and medium-sized businesses will be mutually beneficial. This, in turn, will make it possible to attract large companies to Uzbekistan. Tourism will also develop. Your ancient cities have become a favorite place for foreign guests”.
