Exporters visit Italy
Quantity does not always mean quality.
Representatives of Italy’s agricultural sector follow this principle and, using a scientific approach, achieve high yields every year. In 2025, this indicator reached a historic high of almost 73 billion euros. Therefore, this European Union country was selected for the next study tour.
Almost 20 domestic exporters of fruit and vegetable products participated in the event.
In Italy, agricultural production is concentrated in 11 major regions. One of them is Emilia-Romagna, which is home to the largest processing cooperatives. As part of the experience exchange program, the entrepreneurs visited Salvi, a company in this region with a 150-year history.
Hail is common in these areas, so orchards are equipped with anti-hail nets and rain-protection structures. Excessive precipitation can cause cracking of the fruit’s skin, negatively affecting exports.
To preserve soil fertility and ensure the rational use of water resources, seedlings grown using the in vitro method are preferred here.
The participants of the trip also became familiar with the processing of vegetables and fruits, since this is where the greatest added value is created.
