On November 9-11, Dongfang hosted the First Youth Assembly of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization under the motto “SCO Youth against Terrorism and Extremism”.

Importance of developing tourism industry was emphasized by Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan State Committee for Tourism Development S.Akbarov: “Development of youth tourism will give a new impetus to cooperation and development of tourism potential in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization”.

“Tourism contributes to rapprochement of the young generation from different countries, – Akbarov continued. – We are working on introducing the so-called silk visa, which provides special conditions for tourism in the Great Silk Road countries. With this visa, tourists can visit not only one country, but several at once”.

As reported by the Press Service of the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at the meeting, the participants exchanged views on current issues in the SCO space, indicated their attitude to existing problems, as well as made specific proposals for strengthening and promoting cooperation between members of the organization.
