The 18th meeting of the Youth Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was held at the SCO Secretariat in Beijing under the chairmanship of the All-China Youth Federation. The delegation of Uzbekistan was led by Dilnoza Kattakhonova, First Deputy Director of the Agency for Youth Affairs.
At the meeting, leaders of youth movements from SCO member states discussed measures being implemented in their countries to address youth-related issues and reviewed prospects for further strengthening cooperation in this area.

It was emphasized that the Youth Council is an essential platform for implementing youth policy in SCO member states. It was noted that there is a need to enhance the activities of the Council based on the principles of the “Shanghai Spirit” and to strengthen friendly cooperation among young people from the organization’s member states.

Ms. Kattakhonova also briefed the participants on the projects being implemented in Uzbekistan to support youth and made proposals for developing cooperation with SCO member states in several areas.
In particular, special attention was given to such areas as the development of youth entrepreneurship, startups, and training in modern professions, the formation of a community of graduates from leading universities, and the creation of media content promoting patriotism and universal values among the younger generation.

Following the meeting, the chairmanship of the SCO Youth Council was transferred from the People’s Republic of China to the Kyrgyz Republic.
